Sweet Wine Biscuits with Sesame

Thought it might be nice to do a food blog, and although this baking session is rather far in the past, I still remember enough to be coherent. I was doing my best to follow a vegan version of the Fuhrman diet, and sorely needed a treat. Wine biscuits were something I remembered from my past as nice, but not so delicious I'd pig out on them like I might with chocolate chip cookies.

There was an open bottle of wine begging to be cooked with chilling in the fridge, and Vegan Cookies invade your Cookie Jar was sitting on the counter. The dough was a bit stickier than I prefer, and they used up a ton of sesame seeds, but they were wonderful. Better than any of the wine biscuits I remember from my past. Including some made with homemade wine. Those were dry and not sweet or savory, pretty much just dry. I did a few without the sesame seeds and found the sesame seed to be very important to the flavor. They add a nice crunch, and give bit of texture and flavor without taking over. Very yum.
